Terms & Conditions of Teleconsultation
Please review the clinical scope, emergency limitations, document retention rules, and fee terms governing online medical consultations with Dr. Satish Durgesh.
Effective Date: October 2026 • NJ Hospital Yelwal & Mysore Institute of Gastroenterology
🚨 Emergency Medical Disclaimer (Not for Acute Emergencies)
Teleconsultation is strictly for non-emergency evaluation, pre-operative surgical assessment, scan interpretation, second opinions, and post-operative follow-up.
If you or the patient are experiencing acute severe abdominal pain, persistent vomiting of blood (hematemesis), sudden jaundice with high fever, suspected perforated viscus, or signs of septic shock, do not wait for an online appointment. Proceed immediately to the nearest Emergency Department or NJ Hospital Emergency Casualty (Yelwal Bypass, Mysuru: +91 70199 75338).
1. Scope & Nature of Teleconsultation
Consultations are conducted by Dr. Satish Durgesh, MCh Surgical Gastroenterologist (JIPMER AIR-1, KMC Reg. No: 91702). An online consultation provides professional surgical opinion, assessment of current symptoms, and radiological report review based upon the clinical data and scans submitted by the patient.
Because a physical palpation and abdominal tactile examination cannot be conducted remotely, you acknowledge that the telemedicine opinion is limited by remote evaluation and is not an absolute replacement for an in-person physical clinical examination. In cases of clinical doubt, Dr. Satish Durgesh may advise an immediate physical visit at NJ Hospital, Mysuru.
2. Document Uploads, Privacy & 3-Month Auto-Deletion
- Authenticity of Reports: You agree to upload accurate, genuine, and unedited medical records, scan images, pathology biopsies, and lab investigations.
- Sole Clinical Purpose: Uploaded documents are accessed exclusively by Dr. Satish Durgesh and clinical staff solely for medical review, diagnosis, and surgical record maintenance.
- Auto-Deletion Policy: All uploaded files stored in secure Cloudinary cloud storage are automatically and permanently deleted after 90 days (3 months) unless transferred to an active in-patient hospital admission file.
- Privacy Guarantee: Patient records are encrypted and never disclosed to any marketing, commercial, or insurance third party without explicit court or patient mandate.
3. Consultation Fees & Rescheduling Policy
- Normal Consultation (₹500 / 20 min): Covers routine surgical review, basic reports analysis, symptom evaluation, and medication guidance.
- Critical / Detailed Consultation (₹800 / 40 min): Covers in-depth cross-sectional CT/MRI scan slice analysis, second surgical opinion, complex HPB/GI oncology evaluation, and operative planning.
- Rescheduling: If you are unable to attend at your scheduled slot, you may contact our clinical coordinator Rakshita (+91 70199 75338) at least 2 hours before the appointment to reschedule without any penalty.
- Surgeon Emergency Rescheduling: As Dr. Satish is an active gastrointestinal oncosurgeon performing major Whipple and liver resections, an urgent emergency operating theater case may rarely cause a slight delay or slot adjustment. You will be immediately notified via phone/WhatsApp.
4. Digital Prescriptions & Regulatory Compliance
Digital prescriptions issued post-consultation carry Dr. Satish Durgesh's verified credentials and Karnataka Medical Council registration (KMC 91702). Under NMC Telemedicine Guidelines, Schedule O medications (e.g. antacids, prokinetics, paracetamol) and Schedule A medications (first-line antibiotics, surgical maintenance drugs) may be prescribed, while Schedule X restricted narcotics are strictly excluded.
Governing Law & Jurisdiction: These terms and any clinical interactions are governed by the laws of India. Any legal disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Mysuru, Karnataka, India.
